THE MAN Holds Inaugural Meeting in Lekki, Lagos

Lawal’s Advocacy Initiative for the Man, simply known as THE MAN, has held its first inaugural meeting in Lekki, Lagos, marking the official launch of the non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing issues affecting men in Nigerian society. THE MAN is an advocacy-driven NGO with a specific focus on challenges surrounding men, with particular attention to paternity-related disputes, emotional wellbeing, and the use of DNA testing as a tool to prevent paternity shock and promote truth and fairness. The inaugural meeting brought together founding members and stakeholders to discuss the growing impact of unresolved paternity issues on men and families. Participants emphasized the need to break long-standing social stigma that discourages men from speaking out or seeking clarity on paternity matters. Speaking at the event, representatives of THE MAN stated that the organization aims to provide awareness, guidance, and advocacy for men facing sensitive social and legal challenges, while encouraging responsible dialogue rather than conflict. THE MAN also unveiled its plans for public sensitization, strategic partnerships, and nationwide engagement as part of its long-term commitment to advancing men’s rights and wellbeing in Nigeria.
